New Roots Charter School in downtown Ithaca welcomes you to its campus in the historic Clinton House for an evening of student and staff art, music, and poetry celebrating the Earth and exploring the relationship between humans and the natural world.

One of the works on display will be a large painting by Chloe Jarvis, 11th grade student at New Roots. “I make art because it helps keep me calm,” says Chloe, a painter, illustrator, and fiber artist. The image she created contains both natural and human elements, because she wanted to bring humanity into nature.
Members of the community are invited to view this piece and other works of art, tour our building, and learn more about New Roots and all that it offers at the Gallery Night & Open House.

New Roots Charter School is a free public school serving students in 6th -12th grades. The school is open to all NYS residents. Now in its 17th year, New Roots provides small classes, real-world academics, and an inclusive environment designed to support student wellbeing. Enrollment for Fall 2026 is now open.
