Dear Community,
The change to New Roots Charter School for Savannah came during a critical time in our lives. Savannah was struggling with deep trauma. Although; we faced quite a few trying times at the beginning of her joining the school Savannah was cared for in ways I never expected. Especially Jhakeem, there is no way my daughter could have been this successful without his unwavering support.
I never understood the saying “It takes a village to raise a child,” and now I do. My daughter has blossomed into such a smart, strong, and independent young lady. Savannah has maintained a job since she was 14 years old, and is steps away from graduating early. My daughter is the sunlight in my life, and this is because I have had the help of our community in raising her.
