Ithaca, NY — New Roots Charter School is thrilled to extend a warm invitation to the community for a unique Celebration of Learning event on Friday, February 2, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The showcase will take place on their school campus in the Historic Clinton House, providing an opportunity for students from all grade levels to share their achievements from the Fall semester with friends, family, and the wider community.

One highlight of the event is an immersive art installation created by students in the Elevate Gallery – a captivating tree that symbolizes growth, creativity, and the thriving spirit of learning at New Roots. In addition to this, students will proudly exhibit their photography and artwork from the photography studio art classes, offering a glimpse into the diverse talents cultivated within the school’s creative community.

Research consistently emphasizes the importance of student reflection and the presentation of learning to external audiences, as it enhances the educational experience and deepens learning. The Celebration of Learning at New Roots is designed to showcase a mix of student displays and presentations led by the students themselves.

“We believe that when students have the chance to share their work and experiences with a wider audience, it not only boosts their confidence but also makes the learning process more meaningful,” said David Streib (NYS Master Teacher) at New Roots Charter School.

The community is invited to attend and participate, celebrating the accomplishments of New Roots students. Your presence will provide valuable encouragement to the students.
