Dear Community,
One of the main deciding factors in our monumental move to Ithaca from Hawai’i was finding a thriving school environment that would nurture and challenge our child. We found that at New Roots Charter School.
Kawena was graciously welcomed and is encouraged to share their culture, sense of place, and ideals.
New Roots is a place concerned less with test-taking and measuring students through objective standards of learning, but rather, raising up contributing community members who are conscientious citizens of the world.
The teachers and staff are genuinely concerned about each child and the small student-to-teacher ratio allows our child to feel heard and validated. Their learning environment is one of the collaborative views, which allows expansion and fluidity in ideas and discussion.
We are thankful that New Roots provides students a holistic learning environment, a place where they feel safe, empowered, and encouraged.
