I came to New Roots in 2009. I was born and raised in Mexico City, and graduated from the National Center of Contemporary Dance with a B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance, majoring in Stage Production. I am an Anusara-Inspired™ yoga teacher, a registered Yoga Alliance RYT-200 teacher, and a student of mindfulness in education. Our New Roots mission for creating a sustainable future, where youth are essential in crafting the world they want to live in, inspired me to join and support New Roots’ vision. I am passionate about teaching mindfulness to young people, because it offers them the tools to relate to themselves and their environment with more awareness, a sense of interconnectedness, empathy, and to be more caring individuals of their communities. I am pleased to support the development of our Wellness Program by integrating mindfulness and yoga. I hope that my students can experience the benefits of mindfulness as a way to shift their attention and their actions toward experiencing well-being.
