Spanish Teacher
I joined New Roots in 2009. I was driven to support the mission of New Roots Charter School by integrating Education for Sustainability standards, so students can engage in multiple perspectives and appreciation of other cultures’ history, language, and art. Our New Roots mission for creating a sustainable future, where youth are essential in crafting the world they want to live in, inspires me each day to serve New Roots students. I am passionate about teaching Spanish to young people, because it offers them the opportunity to learn about other cultures using the language of study. Learning world languages invites students to consider their similarities with other cultures, as well as inspires them to appreciate their own culture by observing different cultures.
