Founding Board Member (Emeritus)
A founding member of the New Roots Board of Trustees, Dr. Roger G. Richardson worked in higher education for forty-one years. He has a BA in Psychology, MA in Counseling, both from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Planning from New York University.
He served as Associate Provost/Interim Chief Diversity Officer at Ithaca College before retirement. Dr. Richardson served on the Ithaca City School District Board of Education from 2003-06, and is an Emeritus Trustee of New Roots Charter School. Dr. Richardson has taught courses in psychology and sociology and has coordinated and implemented social justice seminars and civic engagement service learning projects within and outside the United States for undergraduate students for over twenty years. His research interests were College Students’ Academic/Social Integration; Academic and Student Affairs Collaboration; and Student Retention in Higher Education.
