School Nurse

Mitch is the school nurse and is in his 12th year at New Roots. Working at New Roots Charter School has been the most rewarding job he has ever had. Seeing students grow into themselves year after year has been one of his many joys.

Mitch earned his Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Dickinson State University in North Dakota. He is married to Leigh, and has 3 children (Sofia, Samara, and Bodhi). Sofia is in her second year at University of Aberystwyth in Wales and is studying creative writing. Samara is a senior at Ithaca High School, and is active in equestrian and track. She plans on going to college in the fall. Bodhi is a kindergartner at Newfield Elementary, and is studying anything and everything.
