Math (MS)

As Lucas grew up in Ithaca, he fell in love with learning about the world through the lenses of math and science. During his time as a student at LACS, Lucas realized the power in learning by engaging with the local environment and community. Lucas loves sharing his passion for learning with others, so after studying both Mathematics and Physics at SUNY Geneseo, he returned to Ithaca, earning his M.A.T. from Ithaca College.

Lucas believes that everyone can learn to use math confidently, especially if guided through context-rich problem-solving. He is excited to join the New Roots community and build a middle school together! In Lucas’ spare time, he hangs out with his two cats, plays and listens to music, plays tabletop games, and even does math for fun using Desmos! Lucas also enjoys walks through our local forests and by our local bodies of water.
