Social Studies (HS)

Jay was born outside of Washington, DC and fostered a love of history from a young age. They moved to upstate NY to study History and Education at Syracuse University and fell in love with the area. While studying, they developed a passion for the ways that our shared history and the stories we tell inform who we are, and our place in our communities. Jay is so excited to bring that passion into their classroom at New Roots, and to help students work toward creating a more just and equitable society. In Jay’s free time, they enjoy reading, learning about other people and cultures, and playing video games.
