School Social Worker

Through Robert’s work as a School Social Worker for the Ithaca City School District, he supports New Roots half-time or 2.5 days a week. Robert has been with New Roots for four years now and is glad that it is available to the community. Robert is impressed with New Roots ability to serve students from several school districts throughout NYS. In addition, it has been a blessing to see the addition of a middle school and to be a part of its successful launching. Robert has worked as a licensed social worker with people across the lifespan, from preschoolers to centenarians. He feels lucky that students share their experiences with him. Robert holds a Masters of Social Work from SUNY Binghamton and a School Social Worker Certification from NYS. Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY and now lives on a farm in Newfield with his family, including his blind horse, Jack.
