Vice Chair
Catherine M. Thompson is currently the Interim Director for the Prefreshman Summer Program at Cornell University. For over 30 years she has worked in College of Agriculture and Life Sciences on issues of diversity and student academic success. She has led workshops in the areas of assertiveness, dealing with oppression, diversity in the classroom and student diversity. Her educational background includes having received her BS from Cornell as well as having completed graduate courses in the field of organizational communication and human resources.
Ms. Thompson serves as the Pre-Health Advisor for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. In this role, she provides advice for students looking to pursue careers in the human and animal medical fields. Since 2012 she has also co-taught courses in CALS and the Dyson School.
Ms. Thompson’s professional affiliations include the Association of Black Admissions and Financial Aid Officers at Ivy League and Sister Schools (ABAFAOILSS), the National Association of Advisors for Health Professions, Inc. (NAAHP) and the Global Community for Academic Advising (NACADA).
