ABOUT MEG MEIXNER
Career and Technology (MS)
Meg Meixner is excited to join the New Roots team as the Career and Technology teacher for the middle school. She loves New Roots’ focus on inquiry, sustainability, participatory democracy, inclusivity, and emphasis on Montessori education. She brings curiosity and a scientific lens to her role as an educator.
Meg holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Education from the Audubon Expedition Institute and a NYS teaching certificate in secondary Biology. She lives on a 92-acre plot in Hector with her husband and daughter, and together, they run Wolftree Farm. Meg is excited to draw from her plant science and agricultural background as she works with the students at New Roots. She looks forward to helping New Roots middle schoolers become their greatest selves by helping them do work they authentically love.
When not at school, Meg loves to cook, garden, and preserve the harvest. She also enjoys outdoor adventures with her family (hiking, canoeing, camping in the Adirondacks, etc.) and she says, “yes!” to all fiber arts, from sheep to shawl.
