Social Studies (MS)

Mr. Steve is enjoying his first year at New Roots as the Middle School Social Studies teacher. New Roots provides an opportunity for students to shape their own educational experiences, and make friends across the region! Steve is a lifelong educator, having taught for 15 years in the Washington, DC metro area, along with creating Middle School academic enrichment experiences. He moved to Ithaca with his wife and kids in 2016, and served as the Executive Director of IPEI, making grants to Ithaca teachers to support innovation in ICSD schools and classrooms. When he’s able, he wants to hike, paddle and rock climb.
