Svante Myrick visited our LEAP year students last week to discuss questions related to race and social inequality. He shared his experiences as a child growing up in a biracial family in a very small town in upstate New York, reflecting on the experience of poverty and how he constructed his identity. He also engaged in a lively dialogue about City of Ithaca sustainability initiatives and transportation with our LEAP learners, a conversation that he said left him impressed with their engagement and insight.
