Frequently Asked Questions
What is the total budget/cost of the trip?
- The total estimated cost of the trip is $ 1,800.00 per student.
- We are working on breakdowns of the daily budget and the budget is bound to change slightly as details emerge.
Will the students have insurance on this trip?
Yes. We will be purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance plan that will be 6.4% of their plane ticket’s cost for each student along with their plane tickets through Fellowship Travel International. Click here to see more detailed information about the coverage that comes with a comprehensive insurance plan.
How many chaperones are going, and who are they?
2-3 chaperones will be going on the trip. Chaperones are Kelley Robertson and Rebecca Cutter and possibly David Streib.
Who is paying for chaperones’ tickets?
The cost for chaperones’ tickets is factored into the cost of each student’s budget.
How will I communicate with my student/chaperones when they are in Panama?
- Students can bring their smartphones and other devices to use to text/message whenever we have wifi (at all hotels except for Days 5-6 when we are in Chepo de Las Minas)
- Chaperones will have phones at all times with service, either by using local Panamanian phones ($30 for trip) or American phones with international service (this would be another cost to factor in if we decide to go this route) In case of no service (i.e. in Chepo), local landline numbers will be made available to families in case of an emergency.
