Business and Entrepreneurship Teacher

I am the father of two creative children, Isabel Rachel and Isaac Jacob. I love to engage with young people in discussions so that we can learn from each other. I believe together we can make the world a better place. Since 2014 I have been coming to New Roots first working as a volunteer alternative instructor, and then as a substitute teacher. Through the years I have acquired a great deal of respect for the Institution’s ideas, camaraderie with the collegiate staff, and enjoyed many meaningful experiences working with the unique student body. As an educator, I enjoy guiding the learning of real-world applicable math with hands-on activities. I love to build and create things and I enjoy making mistakes and trying again. The best part of being an educator is working with young people and building those personal connections. I hope students will learn to feel proud of all the work that they accomplish. I want learners to not be afraid to tackle challenges; I want learners to understand that it is ok to make mistakes and then they should reflect and learn from them, and learn how cool it is to celebrate successes as a community.
