Social Studies Teacher
John Killigrew teaches lower school Social Studies at New Roots. He also teaches 9th grade Career and College Success Seminar (“Crew”), Urban Hiking, and leads the Clinton House Caretakers service crew, which provides clean-up and beautification services to the school.
John earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and an M.Ed from SUNY Geneseo. John has over six years of experience teaching in a variety of traditional and non-traditional classroom settings in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.
This is John’s second year living in Ithaca. Prior to living in Ithaca, he was teaching and living in his hometown of Rochester, NY. When he’s not at New Roots, you can find John snowboarding, running, or out with his dog Otis.
