At the beginning of the 2017 – 2018 school year, all students and staff held our 1st community meeting of the school year at CSMA (Community School of Music & Arts) before marching down the Commons to the front doors of the Clinton House with a community created sign which read “Rooted in Community – Growing Students for a Just and Sustainable Future”. This demonstration represented our solidarity with the Ithaca community, as much of our education occurs throughout the city with our many community partners.
We’re now accepting online applications through the (ENROLLMENT PAGE) of our website. We invite all community members with students aged 12-18 to consider New Roots as an option for secondary education. If we receive more applications than the number of spaces available at our high school or LEAP high school prep program, we will hold a public lottery on May 1st. To enter the lottery, please submit your application by April 30th. Due to an increase in demand for our education for sustainability-based curriculum, we’re expecting a lottery for 9th grade and our LEAP high school prep program. We encourage you to (APPLY NOW).
Interested in learning more about our school, and meeting our teachers? Please join us at one of our upcoming Open Houses in February and March. To register for an Open House, click the date that works best for you (February 10) or (March 11).
Shadows & Interviews
Students are also invited to join us during school to shadow another student and experience what a day in the life of a New Roots student is like. Additionally, our admissions team and our Founder & Principal, Tina Nilsen-Hodges, are available to schedule a phone or in-person interview to help answer any questions you have about our New Roots community. Please call (607)882-9220 or (CONTACT US) to schedule a shadow or an interview.
We look forward to meeting you!
