Raymond Vanek-Johnson is currently attending TC3, exploring many possibilities to help discover his major. In addition to his studies at TC3, Raymond has been volunteering with the bio-remediation project created by students from New Roots, and has been involved with an activist group that protests gas infrastructure in the Finger Lakes Region. After TC3, Raymond will continue his education at a 4 year university to get his Bachelor’s Degree.

Reflecting on his New Roots experience, “New Roots has helped me towards ultimately getting to where I want to be in a few different ways: first, New Roots taught me to be comfortable in my own self, and with who I am. Second, I am well prepared to adjust to the hard work and independence involved in being a college student.”
