Savannah Sprague

Graduating Year:
Class of 2013

What are you up to now?

I am finishing up my junior year at Wells College studying creative writing. I transferred here from Eckerd College. I just returned from a semester abroad in Bath, England. I will be planning my thesis soon. I am also busy with rehearsal for my college spring dance concert.

What is a noteworthy opportunity you have taken advantage of on your college or career path in the past year?

Definitely going abroad. There's nothing like it. Bath, England is an awesome city. There's so much history and every building is from the 1800s. The classes on study abroad programs are unique and usually not offered back in the states. I was also fortunate to go to Paris over my fall break. Everyone should try to travel abroad.

How has New Roots helped you get to where you want to be?

New Roots is a community that focuses on many important aspects of life. The community is integrated with the Ithaca Community. I believe it helps students think more about their surroundings. New Roots is also very good at working with the individual needs of students in order to help them learn the way that works best for them. The teachers and staff at New Roots are looking out for their students.

What is next for you?

Finishing my senior year of college. Then, hopefully attending graduate school to get my MFA in creative writing.

What is your one-sentence definition of "success"?

Following your dreams.
