Roger Richardson Ph.D.

Title: Associate Vice President/Dean First-Year Experience Academic & Student Affairs

Biography: Dr. Roger G. Richardson has worked in higher education for thirty-eight years.  He has a BA in Psychology, MA in Counseling, both from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Planning from New York University. He currently holds the position of Associate Vice President for Academic/Student Affairs and Dean First-Year Experience at Ithaca College. Dr. Richardson served on the Ithaca City School District Board of Education from 2003-06, and is a current Trustee of New Roots Charter School and The History Center Advisory Board in Ithaca New York. Dr. Richardson has taught courses in psychology and sociology, and has coordinated and implemented social justice seminars and civic engagement service learning projects within and outside the United States for undergraduate students for over twenty years.  His research interest includes College Students’ Academic/Social Integration; Academic and Student Affairs Collaboration; and Student Retention in Higher Education.
