Cayuga Lake Environmental Science Symposium at New Roots!

New Roots Charter School will host an Cayuga Lake Environmental Science Symposium on Saturday, February 25th, 2017, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the Clinton House.  The public is invited to attend!  


Symposium participants will include leaders from the Cayuga Nation, Ellis Hollow Art and Ecology Collective, Ithaca Area Water Treatment Facility, Cayuga Watershed Network, Plantsmen Nursery, Floating Classroom, Community Science Institute, Earth Arts, Primitive Pursuits, and New Roots students. Presentations will include topics such as the New Roots Cayuga Wetlands Restoration Project, related chemistry and bio-remediation efforts, wetland material use, and proposals for future collaborations. The purpose of the symposium is to share important information about current local environmental initiatives to improve the overall health of Cayuga Lake, and to coordinate these efforts with Cayuga Nation Leadership.
